Lesson Areas
Key Stage 1
KS1, aimed at children who need a boost of confidence with their Reading, Writing and Maths. I add fun creative teaching tools and questioning that will enable them to develop a deeper understanding of a subject, in a relaxed environment
Key Stage 2
This is for those children who are looking at SATs and 11+, but also need some encouragement and challenge in their learning. I offer a bespoke learning experience complete with proven, comprehensive strategies, tools and resources to help your child in their development.
GCSE Maths
For secondary school children. I look to help and support with any gaps in their learning as well as looking to prepare for those GCSEs. I will give an array of questions and approaches to guide the children and help them to become more confident and independent learners.
GCSE Science
A-level Physics/A-Level Maths & Further Maths
With these extremely demanding A-levels, Jacob and Kirsty will help support you with both the conceptual and mathematical parts of A-level Physics, and deliver specialist tuition across all areas covered in A-level Maths and Further Maths, including Pure, Further Pure, Statistics and Mechanics.
Understanding key concepts in Maths can be essential to gaining entry to many degree programmes, and the bespoke tuition you will receive on topics such as calculus, complex numbers, data analysis or Newtonian mechanics will help put you in a fantastic position, and help to give you the edge in these tricky subjects.
All About Me
I am Simon and I have taught in primary schools for 10 years, supporting children with their reading, writing, maths and extra curricula work. I am also a GCSE Maths Tutor for a Dudley Academy, who is currently assisting those learners who require extra support in class. In addition to the above, I enjoy using current and multiple teaching strategies to help guide children through their preparation for SATs, 11+ and GCSE Maths.
Prior to teaching, I owned a tennis business for 10 years . Being promoted to Head Coach and being qualified as a Level 4 Performance Coach , I ran a successful and comprehensive tennis programme for over 100 juniors and 200 adults, in which I thoroughly enjoyed the players enthusiasm and their desire to learn new skills.
I graduated from Cardiff University with a BSc(honours) Accounting and went on to become a stockbroker for a large American Company, so maths and mathematical problem solving is in my blood.
Lessons cost between £25-£35ph depending on location. Lessons can also be delivered on-line via Zoom and Teams.
All About Kirsty
Hi there! I’m Kirsty, and I am a tutor currently based in West London, but able to tutor students from all over the UK via Zoom. I have spent over 5 years tutoring children and young adults of various ages, abilities and needs in primary, GCSE and A-level maths and primary and GCSE English. I graduated with a first-class degree in a four-year integrated Master’s in mathematics (MMath) from Durham University in 2020, and then embarked upon a postgraduate PhD programme in theoretical physics at Imperial College London, so learning and teaching academia is second nature for me.
I can help with teaching GCSE and A-level maths, further maths and physics, and GCSE biology and chemistry. I have a real passion for making maths and science accessible and enjoyable for everyone. I am aware that these are subjects by which students can often feel overwhelmed, and it is my goal to help these students not only build confidence but help them to enjoy the process and content of learning too. For students who are already achieving highly, I can help to cement their current understanding and push them further beyond topics covered in school.
All About Jacob
Hi, I’m Jacob and I tutor in maths, further maths, and physics at GSCE and A-level, and biology and chemistry at GCSE. I am based in West London and can offer home visits as well as offering online tuition throughout the UK. In 2020, I received a double first in Natural Sciences (BA) and a Master’s in theoretical physics (MMath) from the University of Cambridge. I then studied at Imperial College London, publishing research on string theory. At Imperial I taught classes on solving university level physics problems, and I’ve recently started tutoring privately.
My passion is understanding and teaching science and maths. It’s not too long since I was in school, and I know that, with the right teaching, confusing concepts can become fun and interesting. I want to share the satisfaction of overcoming the difficulty of these subjects with my students. For higher achievers, presenting some new viewpoints can facilitate a firmer grasp on the material and cultivate their interest in the subject, while keeping a focus on the curriculum so that they can excel in their exams.
